Fund a THIRST project

Fund a research project

THIRST identifies where there are gaps in information and action and then works in collaboration with others to fill them. These discrete pieces of work are vital building blocks in the process of transforming the tea industry so that it is fair for all. THIRST’s seminal human rights impact assessment of the global tea sector was developed in this way; companies and organisations funded various modules which combined to produce a deeply informative three-year study. Your company can be instrumental in making such work possible by funding a research project.

Fund a change project

THIRST collaborates with tea industry actors and civil society to bring about practical changes on the ground and in the way that the tea industry operates so that tea workers’ and farmers’ human rights are realised. These may include empowerment workshops, training projects, knowledge exchanges… but they are always informed by our root cause analysis and, in addition to bringing benefits on the ground, they are also instrumental in deepening the knowledge pool on the causes of – and solutions to – human rights breaches.

Fund a communications project

Raising awareness about the tea industry, the problems it faces in realising the human rights of those at the very source of the tea value chain and the underlying causes of these problems is fundamental to tackling those problems. Your funds could help in communicating with tea consumers, governments, industry players, investors and tea workers and farmers themselves and in so doing, address one of the root causes of human rights breaches in the tea sector – lack of transparency.
