Fund a THIRST project

THIRST identifies where there are gaps in information and action and then works in collaboration with others to fill them. These discrete pieces of work are vital building blocks in the process of transforming the tea industry so that it is fair for all. THIRST’s seminal human rights impact assessment of the global tea sector was developed in this way; companies and organisations funded various modules which combined to produce a deeply informative three-year study. Your company can be instrumental in making such work possible by funding a project or piece of research.

Help us cover core costs

THIRST has minimal running costs. However, like every organisation, we do need funds to pay our key staff and cover costs such as communications, IT and travel. Donor organisations do generously support aspects of our project work, for which we are very grateful.

An even more cost-effective way to support our work would be to provide a regular, multi-year grant that would cover our running costs. This would make the organisation much more effective as it would free up our valuable time to focus on the actual work of transforming the tea industry, rather than writing funding bids.

Your company can support THIRST’s important mission with a regular donation. Consider it your contribution towards our shared mission to transform the tea industry. Supporting THIRST forms part of your company’s corporate social responsibility. It signals your human rights credentials to customers, investors and potential employees. It also helps to strengthen the tea industry – tea workers and farmers whose human rights are realised are happier, feel more secure and respected and are thus likely to be more committed to their work.

Make your contributions direct from your profits, and/or organise corporate fundraising events. We can provide you with information to share with your colleagues and guests about how their donations are helping to create a tea industry that’s fit for the 21st century.

Give in-kind support

THIRST operates on a slim margin, ensuring that we keep our overheads as low as possible. We welcome pro bono support with IT, accountancy, legal advice, administration etc. Your company could also support THIRST by providing transportation for our field visits, venues for our meetings and events or computer equipment.
